The One & Only Ocean Club Sold for $140.5 Million Dollars
It’s official! The One and Only Ocean Club has a new owner. In a recent news article in The Tribune, its was reported that the One and Only Ocean Club Resort, one of the premier luxury resort’s in the Caribbean has been sold for $140.5 million. The new owner, Access Industries, which is controlled and founded by billionaire chairman, Ukraine-born Len Blavatnik, closed the deal late last week with Brookfield Asset Management. Conversations about the sale to can be dated back to mid-March. According the the local newspapers, Access Industries not only purchased The Ocean Club, but also six acres of land between the RIU Hotel and Sunrise Beach Villas were also included in the deal, for expansion purposes. The company plans to use the six acres to expand the resort and construct a new convention center on the already unique property. Overall, Kerzner International will still remain Ocean Club’s manager and operator with expansion plans promising all current employees their job security.
