The Kiwanis Club of Over The Hill concluded its reading project today at the Coconut Grove Pre-School.  During the school year, members of the club visited the school and read stories to the students, whose ages range from 3 – 5 years old.  The goal of the project is to help the children develop an interest in reading, which, in turn, aids the educational, mental and social development of the children.

Sales Agent and Appraisal Associate at MCR, Raymond Antonio, has been a member of the club since 1994 and is a Distinguished President.  When the reading project began in 2008, Raymond was instrumental in getting the project off the ground, visiting the pre-school every week to read, and developing a rapport with the children.  He was delighted to be a part of today’s concluding exercise, which also saw the club donate colouring books and crayons to the students.
Recognizing that the proper development and socialization of children are key to the future of a better Bahamas, the Kiwanis Club of Over The Hill continues its tireless efforts to provide positive interaction.  MCR, a strong supporter of activites to improve the community, encourages its staff and agents to give back.  In addition to Kiwanis, the MCR family is also involved in R.E.A.C.H., Rotary and Hands For Hunger.
